Bushfire wildlife rescue in the area of the river, near Painted Bridge

Police were responding to reports of an abandoned 바카라사이트vehicle on the bank. A large amount of firewood was found lying on the road near the water.

“A number of people were able to come 우리카지노in and take what they thought were the bodies of animals, which had turned up from a riverbank,” said Staf바카라사이트f Sgt Dave Macleod of Victoria Police.

It is believed about 100 people were involved in the fire. It broke out near the River Beaumont at about 6.30am and was extinguished before being re-ignited by volunteers at about 7.40am, the officer added.

Police and Fire Service volunteers spent the night and were continuing to investigate as part of the scene at about 7.45am and the fire was put out around 9am.

“A lot of people who have been coming in today, who were quite shocked and devastated, have said they will remember the event for the rest of their lives,” said Fire Service co-ordinator David Hall.
